Dark, but not really.

Sometimes a blog inspiration might be a song I heard on the radio. Today's is just that. Nothing special, just a song I like and had heard this morning.

I also had a picture that could complete the bad analogy I usually try to make with the song title. This picture was taken January 3rd 2007. Big moon, warm temperatures. It was almost like spring.

If you look at it differently, the moon can look like a light at the end of a tunnel. Or something from a Stephen King novel.

All in all, today's turning into a pretty good day. The week is flying by.

The title sounds a little dark but it's a pretty song: I will follow you into the dark.

DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE

"I Will Follow You Into The Dark"

Love of mine some day you will die
But I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark

No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark
If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the NOs on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule
I got my knuckles bruised by a lady in black
And I held my tongue as she told me
"Son fear is the heart of love"
So I never went back

If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the NOs on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

You and me have seen everything to see
From Bangkok to Calgary
And the soles of your shoes are all worn down
The time for sleep is now
It's nothing to cry about
Cause we'll hold each other soon
The blackest of rooms

If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the NOs on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
Then I'll follow you into the dark

Glad you're enjoying your day. I really like that song. Pretty is the right description for it. I have their CD and find it a good one to work to.

such a beautiful song...I love it.

My daughter first introduced me to them when she was trying to persuade me to buy her a concert ticket.

(see, teenagers are good for something)

Cool pic, man! I think it looks like someone took a celestial manhole cover off. I said manhole. Heh heh.

Are you in mourning after yesterday's loss? Cheer up there's always next year. My brother told me there is a Canadian connection to your team. My brother used to go watch him play for his old team, the Saskatchewan Huskies. Sorry, can't remember his name. I do know he made a couple of mistakes yesterday so maybe now is not the right time to bring up the "Canadian" connection!!

Hey Olivia. Thanks.

Mike, ha ha. Thanks for the imagery. I never really thought of manhole that way - nor will I again.

Toccata. I get over those things pretty fast. We did pretty well without a quarterback, eh? We had Doug Floutie for a bit 20 years ago (who played in Canada). I don't know our current connection - I'll look into. It's still cool to see the Bears supported somewhere other than Chicago.
